Lucia Colella's Art Collection
Lucia paints but prefers to draw because it is an immediate and raw response. Which can create some beautiful paintings. She draws intuitively and doesn't question herself. She doesn't prepare more than cutting a piece of paper and opening up her box of pastels.
Lucia has a BA joint hons in Fine Art and history of art and design from De Monfort University Leicester. She also did a foundation course in Art at North Oxfordshire College & school of art ( now Active Learning). Her academic journey in art began at Chelsea College of Art BTec in Visual Art and history of art and design. She has a background in theatre design. She has created scenic backdrops and props for various theatres including: The Jermyn Street theatre. for Carmen (a production on Carmen Miranda). She has also painted costumes for Cats, Riverdance, and Beauty & the Beast.
She is an artist in residence at ArtFix London. Here she learned of and became involved in art4refugees.
